In the field of health, healthy officers always warn us about some dangerous habits that can destroy our health if not stopped. Similarly, in our Christian lives too, there are some things that easily destroy us if we don't kill them first. In this article, we will take a look at five of such silent killers.
1. PRIDE
Pride can be both positive and negative. However, when the Bible says "Pride goes before destruction "(Proverbs 16:18), the Bible was referring to negative pride. Negative pride is the quality of having an excessively high opinion of oneself or one's importance.
Pride is a deadly sin that can easily destroy a person. Instead of living in pride, God wants us to be humble and treat people with humility. God hates pride. Please watch it.
2. UNFORGIVENESS
This is one deadly killer. Sometimes we find it so difficult to forgive people who have hurt us. So we keep the bitterness in our heart and secretly hate those people. Often, we might not even know we are living in unforgiveness. Unforgiveness keeps us bitter. Unforgiveness is dangerous. Please watch it.
3. ANGER
Every normal human being once in a while gets angry when provoked. When it comes to anger, none of us is innocent. However, anger is one deadly killer we need to watch carefully before it destroys us. Anger makes us say or do things we should not say or do. When we are angry, we say things we later regret. Let's watch our anger.
4. ENVY
Envy is the desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable thing belonging to someone else. Envy isn't a good thing. Envy causes people to kill. Contentment is godliness. If we don't kill our envy, envy will destroy us.
5. LUST
Lust is an inappropriate desire for something or someone. To lust after someone is to desire the person sexually. A lot of the sins we commit are borne out of lust. Lust is one of the main reasons some people are destroyed. Lust if not checked will destroy us. Lust is a serious silent killer. We need to watch it and deal with it.
