TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS CHRIST? (Part 1)

SCRIPTURE 1JOHN 5:12

"God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life."

Over 2000 years ago, a man walked this earth, His name is Jesus Christ. No major religion in this has disputed the fact that Jesus Christ once lived. What many people reject is the true nature of Jesus Christ. Some agree that he was a good teacher, others say He was one of the prophets who lived. But who is Jesus Christ? Let's start a journey into the true nature of Jesus Christ.

JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD

One day, Jesus asked his disciples an interesting question "who do men say I am". After Peter told Him what people think about Him, He asked Peter for His personal opinion and Peter answered "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" Matthew 16:16.

Peter's answer provided us with the first true identity of Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. Jesus came into this world as a carpenter's son. He sounded like a prophet and taught people but He wasn't a prophet, He was greater than that. Jesus is part of the God-headed Trinity.

Jesus as the Son of God means that He has the full nature and divinity of God. Jesus himself on so many occasions declared His divine oneness with God. Jesus has all the powers of Heaven. The Holy Trinity is made up of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit(Matthew 28:19). All three distinct persons function as God almighty.

Jesus being the Son of God is a divine position not a physical position. When God gave His Son to die for us, God gave us a part of Himself. That is why we need to value the sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus is God but not God the Father, rather God the Son. A true knowledge of the divinity of Jesus Christ will make us get closer to Him. Stay blessed
