BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THE PEACEMAKER
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God".
Over the past few days, we have been looking at Jesus' sermon on the mountain. Today, we will continue with that.
Jesus' message for us today is simple: when we make peace, we are children of God. When God sent His only Son to die for us on the Cross, He was making peace between Himself and humanity( 2 Corinthians 5:19). God is a peace loving God, to be His children, we also need to be peace loving.
To be a peacemaker, you first need to be connected to Jehovah Shalom, the Lord our peace. To attain peace in our lives, we need to totally surrender to Jesus Christ who is our Prince of Peace. When we are at peace within ourselves then we can also be peacemakers.
Peacemaking is about reconciliation. The first way we can be peacemakers is to help others get connected to God through Jesus Christ. True peace lies in Jesus Christ and we must preach the Gospel of Christ's peace to people.
We can also be peacemakers when we live peacefully with others. When we offend others, we need to apologize and make peace with them. When they offend us, we need to forgive them and be at peace with them. Doing these is what makes us children of God. Stay blessed!
Prayer line:
Lord, thank you for reconciling me to yourself through Jesus. Please help me to live peacefully with others. Amen.
