BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: WHAT DOES GOD WANT?
SCRIPTURE: 1 TIMOTHY 2:3-4
"This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
A lot of us go through life each day without knowing exactly what God wants from us. Today, let's identify some of the things God wants from us as recorded in the Bible.
GOD WANTS US TO BE SAVED
John 3:16. One of the most important things God wants from us is for us to be saved from the bondage of sin and hell. This desire of God made Him sacrifice His only Son for us. Salvation is God's biggest plan for humanity. *For us to be saved, we need to repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.* This is what God wants from us.
GOD WANTS US TO WALK IN HOLINESS
2 Corinthians 7:1. "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." When we get born again, one of the things God wants from us is for us to walk in holiness. God doesn't want us to continue walking in sin. He wants us to crucify our fleshy desires and make the effort to be holy. This isn't easy but it is possible when we trust in God to help us.
GOD WANTS US TO COME TO HEAVEN
Philippians 3:20 "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ". God's ultimate plan is for us to come to heaven when we die. Contrary to what some people think, Heaven truly exists. When we become born again, God made us citizens of heaven and wants us to come to Him when our journey on earth comes to an end. God doesn't want anyone of us to go to hell. But to get to Heaven, we need to be born again.
