BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THY WILL BE DONE
SCRIPTURE: LUKE 22:42
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
This is the concluding part of our series on "Knowing the Will of God". Knowing the Will of God is so important if we are to abide by His Will. But just knowing His Will isn't all we need to do, we need to surrender to His sovereign Will. How do we surrender to the Will of God?
REPENT AND ACCEPT CHRIST
The first stage is to repent of all your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord(if you are not already a Christian). Jesus came to die for our sins so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish. To surrender to God, you first need to be born again. *If you are already born again but you haven't been serious with God, this is the right time to renew your commitment to Jesus Christ.
ACCEPT GOD'S WILL
Surrendering to God's Will means giving up our own Will and accepting God's supreme Will. Our human Will is always inclined to sin. So we need to give up our carnal Will and allow God's supreme Will to be done in our lives.
PRAY FOR GOD'S WILL
In everything situation we find ourselves, we need to pray for God's Will to be done. We might have our own plans and Will but just like Jesus did in our scripture for today, we need to allow God's Will to be done in our lives. The Will of God will always take us to our expected destination. As Christians, it is very important that we always surrender to the Supreme authority of God.* Stay blessed!
Prayer line:
Father, today, I wholly surrender to your Will. In every situation I find myself, Lord, please let your Will be done in my life. Amen
