TOPIC: KNOWING THE WILL OF GOD
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the WILL of my Father who is in heaven".
The Bible has asked us several times to abide by the Will of God. But the questions most of us find ourselves asking are 'what is the Will of God?', 'how do we know the Will of God'? and 'why must we surrender to the Will of God?'
WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD?
Quiet simply, the Will of God is God's sovereign authority or plan for our lives. To know the Will of God is to know God's authority. This authority is revealed in the plans He has for each one of us. To accept the Will of God is to accept God's plans for your life.
WHY WE MUST SURRENDER TO GOD'S WILL.
God created us for a purpose. He created us with a master plan. But we will never know this plan if we don't surrender to His sovereign authority in our lives. Without knowing the Will of God, we will all live our lives the way we want to and die without actually fulfilling our purpose on earth.
God's Will is Good. In Jeremiah 29:11, God declared that He has a plan for us and the plan is good. The truth is, no matter the plans we might have for ourselves, God's plan is always better. Our human Will is corrupted with sin, we therefore cannot abide by our own human Will. We need to surrender to God's sovereign Will for our lives.

Father, I know my human Will is corrupted with sin, please help me know your sovereign Will for my life and abide by it. Amen.
