BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: SURVIVING THE WILDERNESS(part 2)
SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 43:19
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland".
Surviving the wilderness isn't easy. Some of the wildernesses we will pass through are very tough and deadly. Yet God wants us to know we can survive them. So how do we survive when we find ourselves in the wilderness of life.
CONSISTENT PRAYER LIFE
Prayer is the believer's most dangerous weapon. If we want to survive life difficulties, then we need to pray consistently. Prayer works. When we pray consistently even in the midst of our troubles, God gives us the strength to endure. When we are faced with serious difficulties, that isn't the time to relax. When we find it so hard to pray, that's when we need to pray harder.
AVOID COMPLAINING
complaining whilst you are in the wilderness will prolong your stay in the wilderness. When Paul and Silas found themselves in the prison, they had so many reasons to complain but they chose to praise God and He intervened. Complaining will slow down our blessings, praising God will speed up your blessings. To survive the wilderness, you need to develop the habit of constantly praising God no matter how difficult your situations are in life.
HAVE FAITH AND BE OBEDIENT
We cannot survive our wilderness experiences if we don't have faith in God. Whilst in the wilderness, God tested the faith of the Israelites several times but they always failed. That was why they overstayed in the wilderness. To survive the troubles we go through, we need to have faith that God will deliver us and we need to be obedient to His word.
In our next BWC, we will look at some of the reasons God allows us to pass through some difficulties in life. Stay blessed.
Prayer line:
Lord, I thank you for every situation you allow me to pass through in life. Please give me the strength to endure.
