TOPIC: THE CULTURE OF WORSHIP 2
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 99:9
"Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy".
In our previous BWC, we started a series on WORSHIP. We started with what worship is. Today, we will proceed to look at the purpose of worship. Why must we worship God?
Moat of us spend time to worship God(mostlty through songs), but have we ever paused to ask ourselves why we must worship God? In our biblical text for today, David encouraged us to worship our God. Why? Because the Lord is Holy.
God is a Holy God. There is none like Him. We must worship Him because He is Holy. The object of our worship is a Holy God. Worship isn't about us. Worship is our devotion to a Holy God.
In Revelation 15:4, the Bible tells us about the holiness of God. God being holy means there is no trace of evil found in Him.This uniqueness of our God makes Him deserving of our worship.
Another purpose of worship, is for us to submit to the authority of God. Worshipping God is the highest form of submission. When we worship God with our lives, we submit our humanity before God and takes His divinity. Through worship, we become more like God. The more we submit ourselves to God in worship, the less prone we are to sin.
The ultimate reason why we must worship God is that we were created for this very purpose. Human beings were created to worship our Creator. God created us for His worship. We are to worship God through our songs, through our daily lifestyle. We must worship God with our bodies. In fact, worship encompasses every aspect of our lives. Our ultimate desire must be to always worship our Maker because that is the very reason for our creation. So how do we worship God?

Holy Father, I believe you created me for your worship. Please help me to devote my entire life to worshipping you. Amen.
