TOPIC: PUT ON KINDNESS

SCRIPTURE READING: Colossians 3: 12- 14

12 "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering"

A simple act of kindness, can create an endless ripple. "Kindness" just as its twin sister "Love" is the strongest force in the world. Kindness is conquering and it defines us as Christians. Have you ever been kind to someone you know is really working hard to bring you down? feeding them when they're hungry?

The Bible says when we're able to do this, we heap burning coals on their heads. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.. says Martin Luther King, Jr.

So often, how we treat others comes back to us. Therefore, when we are kind, it's so much likelier that others will be kind to us. Of course, it doesn't always happen that way, (Look at Jesus and how he was treated!). But whether it does or doesn't, it doesn't really matter.

As Christians, we always should be kind even if it doesn't come back to us. In fact, being kind to those who are unkind to us is a Hallmark of being a true follower of Jesus. Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the prophets(Mathew 7: 12). Let your kindness be motivated by selfless and self-sacrificial love.
