BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THE SECOND ADAM part 2
SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 5:15b
"For if the many died by the offense of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!"
In our previous BWC, we looked at the Part One of this message, "The second Adam". We looked at how sin and death entered this world through the disobedience of the first Adam. Today we take a look at how Jesus Christ, the second Adam lived, died and resurrected to destroy the sins of the first Adam.
Our Lord Jesus Christ was born into this world primarily to achieve two main purposes: first to break the strong hold of sin and free man from the bondage of sin. Second, to reunite man back to God the Creator. Adam's sin in the Book of Genesis not only introduced sin into this world but also broke the relationship between God and man.
When Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary, He paid the ultimate price for our sins. He broke the bondage of sin over our lives. Humanity was no longer under the control of sin. When our Lord resurrected, He defeated death hence granting us eternal life. He had completed undoing the works of the first Adam. Praise God!
But that wasn't all, when Jesus gave up the ghost on the cross, the veil of the temple thorn into two(Matthew 27:51), by this, Jesus granted humanity unrestricted access to the presence of the Almighty God. Jesus had completed His ministry of reconciling humanity back to God(2 Corinthians 5:18-19).Glory be to God.
Now that the second Adam has completed God's grand salvation plan, all that is needed is for us to accept His salvation and live completely for Him. Today, I urge you to give your life to Christ and live for Him. Only Jesus can save us. Let us therefore live for the one who loved us and died for us. God bless you.
Prayer line:
Father, I am forever grateful for saving me from the consequences of my sins. Today, I surrender my life to Christ and I pledge to live for Him. Please give me the Grace to do your Will. Amen
