Breakfast With Christ - Imitating Christ (Part 2)

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: IMITATING CHRIST part 2

SCRIPTURE: John 15:9

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love".

In our previous BWC, we did the part one of the series ' Imitating Christ' where we looked at how we can learn from our Lord's humble nature. Today we will look at how we can learn from his loving nature.

One of the most talked about topic in the New Testament is the love of God that was shown through Jesus Christ. In fact John dedicated most of his writing in first John talking about love. During Jesus' earthly ministry, one of the things He did was to love everyone including His enemies and sinners. Jesus never discriminated.

He demonstrated His amazing love by healing the sick, providing food for His followers and most importantly, forgiving sinners. Christ is the epitome of God's divine love for mankind. His death on the cross for us was the ultimate demonstration of His love for us.

As Christians, one of the ways we can show that we are indeed followers of Christ is when we show love to all. We need to love everybody without any form of discrimination. Yes, that includes loving those who even hate us. You cannot be a Christian and still hate your fellow human being. Loving people also means forgiving those who offend us.

In our scripture for today, Jesus asked as to remain in His love, which means we should love one another just as He has loved us. Let's all show love, not only to those who love us but even those who hate us. God is love, if we say we know God then we must also walk in love. God bless you.

Prayer line:

Father, I am glad you love me. Please help me to show love to everyone I come across. Amen
