Why Pray?

It seems to me that no one can have a successful ministry without prayer. Selah

Prayer is the best way of saying "Lord, I can't do it without you" and "I absolutely depend on you for everything". This is the language of prayer.

You pray about everything and worry about nothing.

Teaching is driven through prayer

The prophetic ministry is driven through prayer

Evangelistic ministry and driven through prayer

The pastoral ministry is driven through prayer

Everything about the Christianity is driven through prayer. Something none of the apostles left behind.

Anyone too busy to pray will be too quick to fail and dry up.

The best revelation of how to pray is to pray. One secret of the early church was prayer. They saw prayer as part of their life and activities. They couldn't live without it.

Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Prayer was the lifeline of the early church and no true believer or minister can do without this.

Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. 12:2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 12:3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

I thought God was going to deliver James from death, but this guy died. Herod took Peter too. This time, the church became smart and started praying. God delivered Peter through the prayers of the church.

We need to pray for ourselves, our pastors, our family and friends.

1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Any revelation about Jesus that makes you not want to go to church anymore, that makes you not pray anymore, or that makes not give anymore etc is a sure sign of rebellion against the kingdom of God being employed by the kingdom of darkness.

Pray in the office, pray at home, okay in the market, pray in the room, prayer in the closet, prayer everywhere.

Make prayer your hobby and habit today.
