Breakfast With Christ - Rest In Peace

BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST

TOPIC: REST IN PEACE

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest".

No! This isn't a tribute nor an obituary. This is God's word for you today. God wants us to rest in His peace, not when we die but whiles we are still alive. The phrase 'Rest in Peace' is usually used in funerals but as Christians we can rest in the peace of the Lord whilst still alive in this world.

In our scripture for today, Jesus threw an interesting invitation to us, an invitation to come and rest. So what does it mean for us to rest in the Lord?

To rest in the Lord means to take a break from all your worries and fears and find comfort in the arms of our saviour. It is normal for us to take a rest when we are physically tired or worn out. But this rest is temporary, Christ is calling us to find an eternal rest in Him.

Jesus is our peace, today, He is inviting us to come to Him and He shall give us rest. Are you tired of all the troubles in this world? Do you feel broken?, come to Jesus and rest in His peace.

As believers, we need to come to the point when we will enter into the rest of Christ. That position of divine rest when we don't worry about this world anymore, when we have victory over our fears. A lot of us are tired emotionally, psychologically and spiritually, our only comfort is in Jesus Christ. In the rest of Christ, you experience endless peace. It doesn't mean you won't face troubles, but even in the midst of your troubles, the peace of the Lord shall give you comfort.

Are you carrying any burden that is weighing you down? Today, Jesus is asking you to drop that burden at His feet and enter into His rest. God bless you!

Prayer line:

Lord, I pray that may I find rest in you. Today, I lay at your feet all my worries and troubles that I may enter into your rest. Amen.
