TOPIC: THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA
SCRIPTURE: Philippians 1:6
"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus".
The terms 'Alpha' and 'omega' were first used in reference to Jesus Christ in Revelation 1. 'Alpha' and 'omega' are the first and last letters of the classical Greek alphabet. Jesus, in describing Himself to be the Alpha and the Omega is in essence telling us that He existed before all things and He will exist after all things. Also, He is the beginning and the end.
In our Bible text for the day, Paul in writing to the Philippians, assure them that the God who began the good work in their lives will surely accomplish it. Paul was therefore describing God as the Alpha and the Omega.
Brethren, we are drawing close to the end of yet another year. In fact only four days left for 2017 to pass us by, many of us started the year on a high note with God. We made several promises to ourselves. As the year progressed, we gave up on those resolutions for one reason or the other. Now, it is only four days left and we still haven't accomplished the missions we set out to achieve this year. It is still not too late.
I know you might be wondering what exactly you can do in four days.. True, you can't do much in four days but you serve the Alpha and Omega God. He doesn't start what He won't finish. You need to believe that the God who began with you in January 2017 will surely accomplish His good work in your life.
It is time to revisit your 2017 resolutions you abandoned along the way, trust God to help you accomplish them before the year ends. When you are with the Alpha and Omega, you can't give up.
What has God promised you this year? It might be only four days more but the Alpha and Omega God isn't limited by our human timing. Whatever He promised you this year, trust Him to deliver before the year ends. God doesn't fail. Stay Blessed.
