BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: DO YOU BELIEVE?
SCRIPTURE: MARK 9:23-24
23“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
24"Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
It is always very difficult to believe in the impossible. We sometimes find ourselves in very difficult situations that it is so hard to believe anything positive can come out of it.
In our scripture for today (please read Mark 9:14-29), a man took his sick son to the disciples of Jesus for healing but they could not heal him. When Jesus came, the man pleaded with Him to heal his son. Jesus' response recorded in chapter 23 is very interesting. Jesus could simply have gone ahead to heal the boy but He first asked the man to believe. Why?
Throughout the four Gospels, almost all the healing miracles Jesus performed were based on the faith and the belief of the recipients. The Bible said when Jesus went to His hometown, He didn't perform many miracles because of their unbelief(Matthew 13"54-58). Doubts prevents us from receiving from God.
Today, God is asking you, do you believe? That request you've put before Him, do you believe He can do it for you? Are you sick? Do you believe God can heal you? Are you in need? Do you believe God can provide for you? When we pray, we need to believe that God will answer us. A prayer said in doubt is a wasted prayer.
God is omnipotent but He still requires our faith and belief to perform His word in our lives. God bless you.

Father, help my unbelief. Please help me believe in you. Amen.
