BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: KEEP WALKING
SCRIPTURE: PROVERBS 24:16a
"For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again".
One of my greatest lessons in life comes from observing a child who is learning to walk for the first time. The child may fall several times but he will still get up and try one more time. The child is so much focused on walking that the frequency of his fall doesn't discourage him from getting up and trying again. Sometimes the child may get hurt and cry but when the tears dry up, he will get up and continue walking. No child who is learning to walk, falls and remains on the ground.
In our daily lives, we may experience a fall in so many ways. Sometimes the fall is so heavy that we feel like giving up. Some falls discourage us to the extent that we struggle to find the strength to move on. Today, I want to encourage you to keep walking. You might have tried several times and failed, don't quit, keep trying.
In our daily walk with the Lord, we sometimes fall to sins and we feel so guilty that we don't even know how to get up and keep moving on. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, remember the Apostle Peter was also in a similar situation but he still found a way of returning to the Lord. When you fall to a sin, don't stay in it, repent and keep walking with Christ.
The devil is the master of deception, when we fall he will try and make us feel so dirty and unworthy of God's love, but no amount of sin is greater than God's love for us. When we fall, God wants us to get up, repent and keep walking.
No matter how hard the fall is, don't stay on the ground, keep walking. The strength of a man is not in his ability to avoid falling but in his ability to get up and keep walking when he falls. God bless you.
PRAYER LINE
Lord of Grace, may you give me the strength to get up and keep walking when I experience a fall in my life. Amen
