BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST
TOPIC: THE GOD OF LOVE
SCRIPTURE: 1 John 4:10
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins".
In our previous BREAKFAST WITH CHRIST, we looked at some of the misconceptions about the loving nature of God. Today, we will proceed to look at how God manifested His love towards us through His son Jesus Christ.
Our relationship with God has always been founded on His unconditional love for us. So that even when we disobeyed Him and sinned, He still loved us. Since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, God had always taken steps to bring man back to Himself. Man didn't seek God, it was God who sought us and put in place a salvation plan to save man from the eternal consequences of sin.
Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". God's grand plan is to save man from Hell. To fulfill this plan, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and resurrect to pay the ultimate price for the sins of humanity. This was God's ultimate show of love for humanity.
Now that the ultimate price of salvation has been paid, it is left for us to accept God's salvation and be saved. God loves us unconditionally, He wants us to be saved.
Prayer Line
My loving Father, thank you for showing me so much love by dying on the Cross for my sins, today I accept your payment for my sins and I give my life wholly to you. Amen
